A Great Success for Minebea Slovakia – The “Profesia days” in Košice 2017

Minebea Slovakia s.r.o. attended the most popular and most visited career event in Slovakia on 28th September, 2017. The “Profesia Days” offer numerous opportunities for jobseekers and HR-specialists. The event is organized by Profesia, the biggest job portal in Slovakia. Every year, thousands of applicants and company representatives visit the job fair. Until this year, it only took place in Bratislava. Last year it attracted 170 exhibitors and about 16.000 visitors. Since there was obviously such a strong demand, 2017 was the first year, the event came to Košice and therefore the eastern region of Slovakia as well.

The “Profesia Days” provided multiple highlights for all interested parties. Candidates were given the opportunity to get to know various companies and also were able to get an immediate feedback from the respective specialists. Top speakers and motivators presented interesting facts and valuable advice for the visitors. Jobseekers were also able to brings their CVs “up to scratch” and to test their language and IT skills with experts from different branches.

For Minebea Slovakia the event was a huge success. The numbers of inquiries and booth visits were much higher than expected and the HR-Team talked to numerous potential candidates for the new factory in Košice. In May, the groundbreaking was held together with Robert Fico, Slovakia’s Prime Minister, Peter Žiga, the Secretary of Commerce, Mr. Jun Shinmi, Ambassador of Japan to the Slovak Republic and Richard Raši, Mayor of the city of Košice.

Until now, MinebeaMitsumi has manufactured ball bearings, mechanical parts, small-sized motors,  electronic components and systems in large quantities and efficiently by setting up a large-scale production structure in Asia, especially Thailand and China. Meanwhile, the company positions the Slovak plant as a strategic highly automated assembly site, that will also develop special motors, drive systems, sensors and components mainly for automotive, industrial appliances and power tools. These quality products are marketed predominantly in the European Economic Area. The new plant will be built near the international airport of Košice on an area initially consisting of 50,000 square meters, with an option for adding another 50,000 square meters for a possible second construction phase. Košice will not only be a manufacturing base, but will also contain a Research and Development Center, giving home up to 100 engineers. The first products will be manufactured in the first quarter of 2018.
